It is important to note that For the Refugees is run exclusively by a team of dedicated volunteers meaning every penny donated to this cause goes directly in support of Afghan women.
A one-time donation, small or large will be most appreciated. Also, please consider monthly donations. It really makes a difference and 100% of your donation goes to supporting the education of Afghan women. We are a registered charity and can provide tax receipts.
Helping Afghan women find an education is a cause that is widely supported in Canada. Women’s rights are important to us and the denial of rights to women anywhere in the world is an affront against women here. If you participate in organized runs, why not do it for Afghan women? We are a registered charity and can provide tax receipts. Some of our members will be running for Afghan Women in the Canada Army Run in Ottawa on September 21, 2025 and will be asking for pledges in support of Afghan women. Amplifying the voices of Afghan women is something we all can do. Let’s look at an example: A Quebec architect recently was so shocked at the Taliban edict that ordered the boarding up of street side windows of homes, that he wrote to his professional association requesting that this act be condemned. In turn, he was able to bring awareness to many of his colleagues and a dialogue was started on how they might be able to help.
If you have a few hours that you would like to dedicate, let us know. We are looking for English and French language teachers (with or without experience), fundraising campaign volunteers, social media assistance, translators, communicators and more. Let us know how you would like to take part in this wonderful initiative.
